I'm Samara, a Raleigh, North Carolina based natural makeup artist and educator and I'm so excited you're here!
As you might have seen on my instagram, I've become known for my ✨natural glow✨ style makeup application. What does that mean you might ask? It’s that glow from within type of makeup look. It’s effortless, radiant, classically gorgeous and most importantly, never cakey. My main goal as a makeup artist is for all of my clients (special events and students) to look in the mirror and recognize their reflection, but feel like the best, most elevated version of themselves. I can't wait to create some ✨natural glow✨ magic for you!
I never edit or use filters on ANY pictures of myself or clients (hence the filter free zone you entered). Absolutely no judgment to those that do but I don't believe in false advertising and I'm personally exhausted of the cookie cutter fake everything look perpetuated (especially to young girls) on social media. What makes us beautiful are our differences and my goal is to enhance YOUR unique beauty.
Oh and here’s a little background on me: I have my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree and take color matching VERY seriously. Everything else, not so much. I’m a lover of Bravo, the beach, local news (my last name is a hint 😉), and a skincare and makeup product junkie.
Seriously though, when you visit my in-home studio, you’ll feel like you’re in a mini-Sephora.

moved to Miami to start undergrad!

received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fashion Design
6th birthday party makeup invitation for a fashion show and 9th birthday where I asked my mom to hire a real makeup artist come and do makeup on all of my friends during a sleepover party (not sure how I didn’t see the signs that makeup was in my blood from an early age!)
2018
moved to Raleigh with my then boyfriend and started managing front of house at a skincare studio. They asked if I would try my hand at makeup application for clients and I nervously accepted the challenge and never looked back! You know when something just clicks and lights a fire in your soul? That’s how I felt about becoming a makeup artist.
2021
after 11 years, that “boyfriend” became my husband!

July 2022, I officially left my day job to pursue makeupxsamara full time. BEST. DECISION. EVER.
